On December 1st 2025, Maricann Inc. was acquired by Sensi Brands Inc. This acquisition authorizes Sensi Brands to take ownership of the 350,000 sq. ft. hybrid greenhouse that’s managed by Maricann Inc. in Langton, Ontario. Furthermore, there’ll be an additional 100-acre cultivation campus that’s designed to incorporate 1.1 million sq. ft. of cultivated flower.
Maricann Inc. became one of the first cultivators licensed in Canada for medicinal purposes in 2014. Afterwards, they became one of the first EU-GMP Certified Facilities in the country. However, the financial crisis seen throughout 2018 provoked the original owners of Maricann Inc. to sell. It was purchased by the CanAdelaar Group in Austria for $12.4 million in 2020. As such, there’s a diverse & proven history associated with Maricann Inc. For this reason, and numerous others, Sensi Brand Inc. became interested in acquiring the company for its portfolio.
This transaction stands as the largest to date for Sensi Brands. As expressed by CEO Tony Giorgi, this pivotal acquisition marks a milestone for Sensi Brands. He continued by emphasizing
“It underscores our confidence in the long-term future of regulated cannabis, our commitment to disciplined growth, and our responsibility to build a sustainable, globally competitive business here in Canada.”
Sensi Brands Inc. is looking to expand its global presence throughout the international cannabis market. To date, this brand is undergoing re-certification for the EU-GMP Standards. CEO Tony Giorgi has been working alongside management to engage with EU distributors, medical cannabis operators, and international partners. These collaborations & partnerships are meant to create strategic opportunities that will position Sensi Brands Inc. for the best possible growth in 2026, and beyond.
